Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt, Helwan University is a very large coeducational Egyptian higher education institution. Helwan University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 45 years old Egyptian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this Egyptian higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. Prof. Mamdouh Mahmoud Mahdi is the President of Helwan University in Egypt.

His achievements:
Dr. Mamdouh Mahdi, Professor of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine.
Member of the Medical Sector Authority of the Supreme Council of Universities
He was appointed as Vice President of Helwan University for the Environmental Service and Community Development Sector.
He was appointed as a member of the Executive Board of the University's Drug Research Center.
He held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Helwan University, and was its first dean.
Dr. Maged Negm, President of Helwan University, chose him as a medical advisor to Helwan University.
Helwan University Council chose him as Chairman of the Higher Medical Committee of Helwan University.
He was appointed Dean of the College of Nursing from 2009 to 2014.
His selection as a member of many scientific and administrative boards and committees.
He was selected as a member of the Nursing College sector committees until 2024, as well as the Medical Studies sector from 2014 until 2021
He was chosen as a member of the committee to establish a magazine specialized in the fields of nutrition at the university.
