Founded in 1975, Helwan University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Cairo (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt, Helwan University is a very large coeducational Egyptian higher education institution. Helwan University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 45 years old Egyptian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this Egyptian higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.
