The Aswan University branch was established in 1974 as a branch of Assiut University, and in 1995 the President of the Republic issued a decision to establish South Valley University, and accordingly, the university branch became affiliated with South Valley University. Other colleges were established, namely (Arts - Social Work - and Engineering). In 2012, Aswan University was established as a governmental university upon the issuance of Republican Decree No. 311 of 2012. The university includes 18 colleges. Faculty of Science

Faculty of Energy engineering

The Faculty of Energy Engineering at Aswan University is considered one of the first colleges of engineering in southern Upper Egypt, as the College of Energy Engineering in Aswan was established under the name of the Higher Energy Institute in 1989 to graduate engineers specialized in serving the fields of electricity and energy who are able to absorb modern technology in these fields and deal with it efficiently on site and keep pace with its developments Persistent global. The subordination of the college to the Ministry of Higher Education continued until 2006, when it was annexed to the University of South Valley, branch of Aswan University, then the name was changed from the Higher Institute of Energy to the College of Energy Engineering in 2011.

Faculty of Fish & fisheries technology

The faculty of fish and fisheries technology was established in the academic year 2013/2014. The first batch was graduated at the end of the academic year 2016/2017. It is a unique faculty in terms of specialization and quality where it is specialized in the technology of fisheries and fish aiming at developing fish resources in Egypt. It has 5 academic programs with 8 scientific departments concerning all fields that serve developing fish resources.

Faculty of Dar Al Uloom
